The Emergency Data Carrier System incorporates a 2½-cm round, red and white decal that adheres to the outside of the helmet. The external decal is made of a highly reflective material. Emergency and law enforcement personnel can recognize it immediately and know to look inside the helmet for the emergency data sheet slipped into a bright orange plastic carrier envelope. The plastic carrier is attached to the inside of the bike helmet by double-faced tape. The adhesive was tested extensively with high pressure water and steam to ensure that it would adhere well to the inside of any helmet. The information sheet itself is a waterproof, synthetic polyolefin material that resists grease, blood, oil and other stains. The helmet owner uses a pencil to complete the pertinent information, including emergency contacts, medical/surgical history, medications and allergies.

The system has received positive response since its introduction. Medical personnel see it as a lifesaving and timesaving device when every second can make the difference.



Emergency Data Carrier System (EDCS) is an Emergengy Information decal system for use with safety headgear or helmets. In the event of an emergency, EDCS can provide life-saving Information about the wearer's identity and medical history.

	1. Using a pencil, print all pertinent information on the waterproof, durable Emergency data/ID form. Use an eraser to correct errors and update data.	2. Fold Data Form in half, then into thirds. Make sure your name and the EDCS logo appear on the outside panel.



	3. Slide the Data Form into the neon EDCS carrier so that your name and the EDCS logo are visible through the front of the carrier. Fold the tab inside the carrier to secure the Data Form.	4. Peel off the backing from the carrier and attach it to the inside of your helmet. Attach to any firm, clean, dry and flat area.

	5. Remove the backing from the EDCS reflective decal. Apply it to a flat area on the outside right rear or top of your helmet.
